Storm Cancellations & Notices - Feb. 1 & 2, 2011

FRAMINGHAM, MA - Due to storm conditions the Selectman's Meeting and School Committee meeting scheduled for tonight, (2/1/2011), have been canceled.

The Main Library Book Club meeting that was scheduled for this evening (2/1/11) has been cancelled and re-scheduled for Thursday, February 3rd at 7 p.m. in the Costin room. The book being discussed is "Cutting For Stone."

(Library) The presentation by James Coleman, President and CEO of the American Textile Museum, scheduled for Wednesday evening, February 2nd has been canceled and re-scheduled for next Tuesday evening, February 8th at 7 p.m. in the Costin room.

Feb 2nd Immunization Clinic POSTPONED and is Rescheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 8th at Keefe Tech HS from 3 pm to 7 pm.  We still have more flu season to get through. Flu has not yet peaked in Massachusetts. There is still time to get your flu vaccine. The Framingham Board of Health and Medical Reserve Corps volunteers are holding a FREE PUBLIC IMMUNIZATION CLINIC on Tuesday February 8th, 2011 at Keefe Vocational Technical High School, 750 Winter Street Framingham, from 3-7 pm. This clinic is open to ALL residents of Massachusetts ages 6 months and up. This clinic will offer this year’s influenza vaccine, the pneumonia vaccine, and the Tetanus/Pertussis vaccine (tetanus and whooping cough) while supplies last. Due to severe weather conditions forecast for today, Tuesday February 1, 2011, through Wednesday February 2, 2011, the Town of Framingham will waive interest charges up to $15.00 on the 2011 third quarter real estate tax bills, provided payment is received by the close of business, which is 7:00 pm, on Thursday February 3, 2011

Framingham Master Plan Survey (2011)

2011 Framingham Master Plan Survey

The Framingham Planning Board is running an online "Master Plan Survey".

FRAMINGHAM, MA - The Town of Framingham Planning Board has been working on updating the Town's Master Plan for nearly a year.

The Master Plan is laid out on a map which takes into account local long range planning efforts, (and is influenced by initiatives undertaken by State and regional planners).

After reviewing the Town's Master Plan last summer, the Planning Board hosted a series of public forums;  an  "Open Space, Conservation and Recreation" forum, one regarding Economic Development and others to get input from individual neighborhoods.

Memorial Building Summer Meetings Move to Callahan

FRAMINGHAM, MA - The Framingham Town Manager's Office has announced that all public meetings normally scheduled at the Memorial Building, (Town Hall), will be held at the Callahan Senior Center for a period estimated to last up to six weeks beginning June 21, 2010.

The Callahan Senior Center is located at 535 Union Avenue, Framingham, MA, (approximately 1.1 miles north on Union Ave from the Memorial Building).

Rte 9 Resurfacing Project / Informational Meeting

MetroWest Growth Management Committee, The 495/MetroWest Partnership and representatives from The Highway Division of the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) will hold an informational meeting regarding the upcoming Rte 9 resurfacing project on Thursday, April 1, at 7:00PM in Framingham Town Hall.

According to MassDOT, the Route 9 resurfacing project in Natick and Framingham has been awarded, a contract signed and a Notice To Proceed issued.

On Thursday April 1 at 7 pm at the Framingham Town Hall, MassDOT representatives will be presenting an update on the Route 9 Resurfacing Project from Walnut Street in Natick to the Framingham/Southborough Town Line.

The purpose of the meeting is to inform town officials, abutters, interested citizens and regional employers about the logistics of the upcoming construction project. Items to be discussed include construction schedule, temporary impacts, and communication procedures.  It should be noted that the majority of construction will be on a night-time schedule, typically from 9:00PM to 5:30AM.
