ANNUAL ROTARY AUCTION DEC. 5 & 6

FRAMINGHAM,MA --Plans are well underway for the Framingham Rotary Club’s 35th annual Auction, which will be televised on Comcast (Channel 9) and RCN (Channel 8) on Tuesday and Wednesday, December 5th and 6th, 2006.
Items up for auction include Red Sox tickets, weekend get-a-ways, restaurant gift certificates, and much more. This year, the Framingham Rotary Club plans to auction off 400 items and hopes to raise $40,000, all of which will be put back into our community.
The purpose of the Framingham Rotary Club, and Rotary Clubs throughout the world, is community service. In Framingham, 1000f the proceeds from the auction are used to support local and international programs and services that benefit our most needy populations. Some of last years’ local recipients were: The Boys and Girls Club, the Framingham Schools’ Student Assistance Team, The Civic League’s Meal Support Program, YMCA camp scholarships, the Natick VNA, A Place to Turn and the Veterans’ Outreach Center. Globally, Rotary Clubs from around the world have contributed $130 million dollars over the past 19 years toward the effort to eradicate polio.
