Lots of Framingham for sale

July 25, 2007  (08:34:26 EST)

FRAMINGHAM, MA -- The Town of Framingham is set to auction off as many as 29 tax-title properties on August 9th at 11 a.m. at the public hearing room on the lower floor of the Memorial Building on Concord St.

Many parcels are small but a few have raised protests by residents who feel the land is better kept as open space rather than developed. Three of them that abut at 235 Brook St RR, 410 Water St., and 746 Water St. RR are the most controversial and have been taken off the auction due to questions over deeds and titles. Residents led by Precinct 10 member Gewndolyn Holbrow are mounting a campaign to prohibit their sale via a warrant at a special town meeting plus the weight of public opinion.

The Zekos Group is handling the auction and information may be found at www.zekosgroup.com/framinghamauction.html
