NEW HOME FOR FRAMINGHAM PUBLIC ACCESS CABLE STATION
December 29, 2006 (12:33:48 EST)
FRAMINGHAM, MA --The Framingham Public Access Corporation has found a new home: The Fuller Middle School. After considering many town buildings and the needs of creating and producing local cable television shows, the Framingham Public Access Corporation (FPAC) and the Board of Selectmen have selected the Fuller Middle School as the new home for the former Comcast run Channel 9.
Under the gun under the terms of the town’s agreement with Comcast, the Comcast Cable Studio is closing at the end of the year. Therefore, the Comcast staff, cable volunteers, and Framingham Public Access Corporation board members and Executive Director moved equipment and supplies over to the Fuller Middle School this week.
The Fuller School was selected as the best choice as it already had some of the necessary hookups to run a station as it has been the site of the popular Rotary Auctions broadcast on cable and has the room to house the studio.
Principal Juan Rodriguez is enthusiastically welcoming the station and looks forward to integrating the station into the school’s ambience and curricula.
As the crew and board members packed up the contents of the old studio on Burr Street, they made a list of items that will need to be purchased to be up and running. If you happen to have any of the following wish list items in close to "like-new" condition that you are replacing or no longer need, now or anytime in the next few weeks/months, keep the station in mind.
