Stearns Farm Plant Sale Begins

May 22, 2007  (14:28:55 EST)

FRAMINGHAM, MA -- Stearns Farm CSA is "community supported agriculture" right here in Framingham at 862 Edmands Road at Barnbridge Circle just west of Nixon Rd.

Each year they sell the greenhouse seedlings that are not needed in the fields as well as perennials from the fields and friends' gardens. There is a self-serve stand near the entrance of the farm.

The funds collected are used to make improvements on the farm. As crops are planted in the field the remainders go to the plant sale. That means new plants will arrive weekly.

So far there is cabbage, collards, onions, leeks, chives, some herbs and cut flowers, and perennials from sharer gardens. Soon there will be tomatoes, peppers, eggplant and many cut flowers. If you have extra perennials in your flower beds at home, please bring them by.

The farm has pots you can use to pot them. This would be an enormous help to all the folks who participate in community supported agriculture in Framingham.

Come by also to purchase healthy, sturdy plants grown naturally at our farm. Come anytime, the stand is always open.
