Framingham Democratic Caucus On February 11th

Framingham, MA --Registered Democrats in the Town of Framingham will caucus on Sunday, February 11, 2007, in the Community Room at Framingham Green, 136 Maynard Road.
This caucus will elect the Framingham delegation to the 2007 Massachusetts Democratic State Convention. The Town of Framingham is allotted 35 delegates and 4 alternates. At the February 11th caucus, 34 delegates and 4 alternates will be elected. The 35th delegate is automatically filled by the Chair of the Framingham Democratic Town Committee.
Registration for the caucus opens at 6:30PM, with the caucus to beginning at 7:00PM. The registration desk will close at 7PM (there is no fifteen minutes grace period as in previous years).
The caucus is open to all Democrats in the Town of Framingham who are registered as of December 31, 2006.
The 2007 Massachusetts Democratic State Convention will be held on Saturday, May 19, at the Mullin Center on the campus of UMASS Amherst. This is an issues convention that will address activism and emphasize more grass-roots efforts in campaigning.
Candidates for delegate and alternate must consent to nomination in writing and must be present at the caucus. All ballots will be written and secret. Those not elected as delegate and alternate, who meet the qualifications, may apply to be add-on delegates in the following categories: youth, minority, and disabled.
Discrimination on the basis of race, sex, age, color, creed, national origin, religion, ethnic identify, sexual orientation, or economic status in the conduct of the caucus is strictly prohibited. Challenges to the delegate selection process can be filed with the Massachusetts Democratic Party, 56 Roland Street, North Lobby Suite 203, Boston, MA 02129, no later than ten days after the caucus date.
