Framingham Students Win NE Emmys, Byrd Scholarship

FRAMINGHAM, MA - Framingham High School won three 2006 New England Emmy Awards in the categories of news, sports and technical achievement from the Boston/New England Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. The FHS award-winning student producers were Matt Caron, Joanne Connolly, Megan DeMilia, Michael Denham, Erin Healy, Francis Martino, Elizabeth Ramrath, Carolyn Romano, Edward Saunders, Amy Zack, and Class of 2006 graduates Jake Cook, Elizabeth Daly, and Nicholas DiIeso.
This is the third year in a row that Framingham High School has the won National Student Television Award for Excellence.
Amy Schwartz, Framingham High School graduate (Class of 2006) was awarded the Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship this year, as one of two students from each Congressional District to receive the award.
The federally funded scholarship, awarded through the Massachusetts Department of Education, recognizes exceptionally able high school students, who show promise of continued excellence in post-secondary education. Amy Schwartz is a freshman at Northeastern University.
