Breast Cancer Walk Starts on Very Positive Note

FRAMINGHAM, MA - The 2011 Susan G. Komen "3 Day for the Cure" Boston walk started yesterday morning in Framingham.

In the early morning hours, walkers, supporters, friends and family converged on the shore of Farm Pond off Dudley Rd.

At 6:30a.m., the Opening Ceremony began with group stretching, a welcome from Ronni Cohen-Boyar, Executive Director of the Massachusetts Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure organization, followed by an inspirational opening address given by Dr. Sheri Phillips, 2011 National Spokesperson for the Susan G. Komen organization.

3 Swingin' Tenors, 2 Artists, 1 Night of Fun On Common

FRAMINGHAM, MA - The "3 Swingin' Tenors" entertained young, old and everyone in between for the July 22nd, 2011 "Concert on the Green", a free concert series held on the Framingham Center Common each Friday night throughout the summer.

Kids play as couples dance to a 1950's doo-wop medley by the "3 Swingin' Tenors"

The trio The 3 Swingin' Tenors;  Jack Alessi, Steve Marvin and Jim Porcella performed their repertoire of medleys and generational favorites -- with a few improvisational stories and a bit of joking around between sets.

FRAMINGHAM, MA- Sporting the traditional brew-master's lederhosen, at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 22, 2011, the Hendler brothers, Jack, Eric and Sam, of Jack's Abby Brewing, LLC, a new Framingham, MA brewery, arrive at the British Beer Company on Rt. 9.

Jack's wife, other family members, friends and a bar packed locals were already inside -- there to wish the brothers well -- to taste the first commercially available kegs of the brewery's beer -- and to be part of the launch of a new Framingham business.

Jack's Abby Brewing, which is located at 81 Morton St. in Downtown Framingham was founded in January of 2011. Alumni Association Announces Framingham State 2011-2012 Scholarships

FRAMINGHAM, MA- The Independent Association of Framingham State Alumni, ("IAFSA"), a self-governing, non-profit organization established in 1874 which receives and administers funds that provide scholarships and interest-free loans to FSU students, has announced its list of 2011-2012 scholarship winners.

Scholarships, (and loan funding), are made possible by donations, bequests, and rental of the Alumni House.

Scholarships ranged from $500 to $2500.

Verena Lutz and Mariya Dzhyoyeva were the only Framingham residents among the 2011-2012 recipients. Both received a "Dorothy Larned Scholarship" award. The scholarship, which encourages the sharing of international cultures was ...[read more]

FRAMINGHAM, MA - Many residents of Framingham got up early this morning to take a short drive over the town line to Natick.

Some got up early just to make sure they had a good spot to watch Natick's Annual 4th of July Parade -- and others to get ready to be in it.

As a town, we should thank our neighbors to the east for putting together a first-class, traditional, all-American Independence Day parade -- and for being unselfish enough to include Framingham performers, musicians, politicians, classic car owners, fire engines as well as parade watchers.
