2nd Annual Lager Cask Fundraiser to benefit One Mission at The Tavern

The Tavern in Downtown Framingham will host a fundraiser to support "One Mission", a MA based pediatric cancer charity.

FRAMINGHAM, MA - During the 2013 Memorial Day Weekend, on Friday May 24th and Saturday May 25th, The Tavern in Downtown Framingham will be hosting the 2nd Annual Lager Cask Fundraiser (Party!!!) to benefit One Mission.

"One Mission" is a Massachusetts based charity and serves the needs of pediatric cancer patients and their families living in the greater New England area.

There will be 24 lager casks available, and tickets are being sold each of the (3) two and a half hour "sessions".

FRAMINGHAM, MA - On Sunday morning, May 19th Senator Karen Spilka was presented with the Citizen Laureate Award at the Framingham State University graduate commencement ceremony. The award, given annually to an individual who has consistently supported the University, was awarded to Spilka in recognition of her advocacy on behalf of the MetroWest region.  President Flanagan praised Spilka for her leadership in advancing public transportation and strengthening public higher education in the Commonwealth.

Accepting the award, she remarked on the importance of the University in her career. "In my many years as a MetroWest resident and legislator, I have had a long and extremely rewarding relationship with Framingham State University – we are truly partners in advancing higher education," Spilka said. FRAMINGHAM, MA - April 15th has more meaning than "tax day" when it falls on the third Monday in the month of April. "That Monday" has been marked on calendar since 1897 as the day of the running on Boston Marathon.

Framingham DPW to pick up Christmas Trees week of January 14th-18th, 2013.

FRAMINGHAM, MA- The Christmas tree in your home is most likely very dried out -- and should be seen as a fire hazard.

The Town of Framingham Department of Public Works will be  collecting Christmas Trees during the week of  January 14th through the 18th, 2013.

During that week, you should put your tree on the curb on your normal trash collection day.

If you plan to leave the tree up for the next week or so, make sure there is plenty of water in the base.  Check the water daily.

On the other hand, if you've already started cleaning up, and moved the Christmas tree outdoors, you should make sure it is far away from any [cigarette] smoking areas or other possible sources of ...[read more]
