Area Residents Feel Cape Earthquake

USGS National Earthquake Information Center (NEIC) "Felt It" Map, of Buzzards Bay MA earthquake, November 8, 2020 at 9:10am.

FRAMINGHAM, MA -- Did you feel mild ground shaking this morning?   Thousands of residents of Massachusetts, in areas from Cape Cod to Metrowest to the Berkshires and into Connecticut reported feeling light tremors to The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).

The USGS reported a 4.0 magnitude earthquake occured approximately 5.5 miles, (9 km) South / Southwest of Bliss Corner, Dartmouth, MA at 9:10 AM on Sunday November 8th, 2020.

No damage or injuries reported at the time of this report (2:15pm EST).  Even though the the earthquake occured near Buzzards Bay and the Cape Cod shore, no danger of tsunami warnings were issued.
