Peloton Bikes Model PL01<\/strong> are being recalled<\/strong> due to faulty seat post<\/strong> which may break and cause injury during use.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

FRAMINGHAM, MA<\/strong> -- Those who own or use Peloton exercise bikes, (which can be found in many Framingham area gyms, hotels, clubs, spas, physical therapists, etc.)<\/em>, should be aware that Peloton has received 35 reports of the seat post breaking and detaching from the bike<\/strong> during use -- including 13 reports of injuries <\/strong>including a fractured wrist, lacerations and bruises due to falling from the bike<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

This recall involves Peloton Bikes<\/strong> with model number PL01<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Peloton name and the model number are displayed on the inside front fork, near the flywheel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Peloton Model PL01<\/strong> has an adjustable seat to accommodate riders of different heights.<\/p>\n\n\n

The bikes which were manufactured in Taiwan and sold from January 2018 through May 2023 (for about $1,400.00 each)<\/em> from Peloton<\/strong> and Dick\u2019s Sporting Goods<\/strong> stores in Natick, MA<\/strong> (or anywhere else in the U.S.), or online via Peloton or Dicks' websites, or through Amazon<\/strong>.com<\/em> are included in the recall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To request the free seat post<\/strong> and instructions for installation contact Peloton<\/strong> toll-free at 866-679-9129<\/strong> from 6:00am to 12:00am ET, 7 days a week or online<\/a> and click on Product Recalls<\/a> at the bottom of the page for information.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled bikes and contact Peloton for a free seat post that can be self-installed.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This latest recall of Peloton exercise equipment follows other U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recalls including their Tread+ Treadmills after one child death and 70 \"incidents\" in 2021 and another for bike pedals due to laceration hazard. Peloton also agreed to pay a $19 Million (USD) civil penalty for failure to immediately report treadmill entrapment hazards and for distributing recalled treadmills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
