Attendees can get up close and personal with the DPW vehicles that keep our city running smoothly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There will be <strong>painting and coloring, sandbox activities, games, and demonstrations<\/strong> during the open house. There will also be <strong>light refreshments and snacks<\/strong>, as well as <strong>giveaways<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe DPW open house is a fun-filled event for kids of all ages to jump into a dump truck, a frontend loader, an excavator and more,\u201d said Framingham DPW Director Bob Lewis. \u201cDemonstrations by the Highway &amp; Sanitation, Water &amp; Sewer, Engineering, Fleet, Lighting &amp; Signals Departments will be on hand.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the May 20th event. little <em>(and big)<\/em> kids can fill out a form to <strong>name a DPW truck<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There also will be an opportunity for attendees to <strong>design a poster\/billboard<\/strong> sign for a Framingham DPW truck.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you can\u2019t attend the event and want to submit a design, use an 8.5 by 11-inch paper and email mgonzalezortiz@framinghamma.gov by Monday, May 29.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Framingham DPW employees pick up the trash and recyclables, service sewers, keep traffic flowing, maintain our miles of roadways, plow our streets during the winter, fix potholes in the spring, and plant new trees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The open house is a kick-off event to National Public Works Week May 21-27, 2023.
