Centre Common, Framingham, MA (USA)<\/p><\/div>\n

FRAMINGHAM, MA<\/strong> - The 2010 Town of Framingham \"Concerts on the Green\" summer concert series opens June 4th with the Framingham High School Band kicking off the season. The concerts, held Friday nights from 6:30pm - 8:30pm on the Framingham Centre Common feature acts performing music from all genres; country western, bluegrass, big band, gospel, techno-pop, oldies and classic rock cover bands.<\/p>\n

This summer's lineup includes:<\/strong> The Framingham High School Band, Chad Burdick, Marshalee, Summer Street Band, Off the Hook, Sound Assembly Chorus, HELP! (Beatles cover band)<\/em>, The Reminisants, The Glamour Girls, The Infractions, John Penny Band, The Skinny Ties, Amy Gallatin and the Tom Nutile Orchestra.<\/p>\n

There is no charge, (concerts are free to the general public<\/strong><\/em>), but the organizers would appreciate if concert-goers bring and donate food items (or cash) to benefit Metrowest Harvest<\/strong>, (which stocks food pantrys that help many Framingham area families).<\/em><\/p>\n

In addition to the Friday night concerts, a special screening on the movie, \"Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs\" is scheduled for Saturday July 3, 2010 --the movie will shown on a huge 28' foot screen, outdoors on the Centre Common following a concert by Sound Assembly Chorus.<\/p>\n

No mention of the summer concert series is complete without saying thanks to Jim Egan, Framingham Director of Town Owned Buildings.\u00a0 Simply put, Jim makes Framingham a better place to live.\u00a0 In the past Jim has arranged Winter Festivals with Ice-Sculpting displays and built an ice-skating rink on South Common.\u00a0 Jim also played a major role in the restoration of Cushing Chapel.\u00a0 Jim's passion seems to be making people happy and encouraging others to see the best in Framingham.<\/p>\n
