In the background are the The Village Hall and dormitory towers of Framingham State University.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Throughout the summer, each Friday night locals head down to the <strong>Framingham Centre Common<\/strong>, <em>(which is also known as the \"Village Green\")<\/em>, for the popular \"Concerts on the Green\" series that have been taking place for the past 15 years since former Town of Framingham Building Services Director <strong>Jim Egan<\/strong> came up with the idea. Egan, retired this month, (August 2011), after 30 years of service to the Town. The concerts have become one of the most anticipated community events, and \"the powers that be\" have assured us the tradition Jim started will continue. The concerts are now managed by the <strong>Framingham Park &amp; Recreation Departmen<\/strong>t.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_5579\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a booths along the <em>green's<\/em> perimeter: <strong>Wendy Rezendes<\/strong> and <strong>Rich Zupan<\/strong> were promoting <strong>Jewish Family Workshop IV,\u00a0 <\/strong><strong>Ken Ross<\/strong> was there recruiting new members for <strong>Cub Scout Pack 78<\/strong>, <strong>Barbara Sherman<\/strong> was there with her <strong>\"Pucker Powder\"<\/strong>, <em><\/em>members of The <strong>Framingham Democratic Town Committee<\/strong> were promoting, well... <em>\"Democrats\"<\/em>, members of the <strong>Plymouth Church<\/strong> were there with the perennial favorite <strong>\"Concert Cookies\"<\/strong>, <strong>Kevin McGovern<\/strong> and <strong>Bill Robinson<\/strong> were manning the <strong>The Framingham Artist Guild<\/strong> tent, and on the opposite side of the field,\u00a0 <strong>Mark Curtis<\/strong> and crew ran the <strong>Eagle's All American Grill<\/strong> concession stand.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color:
