The club serves members from eastern Massachusetts, with the majority being MetroWest residents.<\/p>\n<p>Other newly-elected officers include: <strong>Eric Jacobsen<\/strong> of Framingham as Uniform Director, and <strong>Jeff Hattem<\/strong> of Natick as Activities Director.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, the following were re-elected: <strong>Arnie Pollinger<\/strong> of Holliston as Vice President; <strong>Barry Ostrow<\/strong> of Ashland and <strong>Marie Leigh<\/strong> of Hudson as Co-Treasurers;<strong> Jen Fields<\/strong> of Westborough as Web Director; <strong>Mike Gannon<\/strong> of Bedford as Membership Director; <strong>Bill Robertson<\/strong> of Ashland as Newsletter Editor; and <strong>Susan Richardson<\/strong> of Framingham as Secretary. <strong>Tom Abbott<\/strong> and <strong>Alison Black<\/strong>, both of Natick, will serve as Grand Prix race Co-Directors.<\/p>\n<p>The Greater Framingham Running Club was formed in 1979 as <!--more-->the Framingham Track Club and has grown into a regional sporting club with 200 members from eastern Massachusetts.<\/p>\n<p>The club designates certain races as part of its Grand Prix Series allowing members to compete for time and point designation awards amongst themselves generating espirit de corps within the group.<\/p>\n<p>Members organize and staff Framingham's weekly Summer Track series for children and adults at Bowditch Field in Framingham, hold a signature event the Busa Bushwhack Trail Race - honoring the club's senior statesman of New England trail running (Rich Busa). The event is part of the Eastern New England and Western Massachusetts Grand Tree Series of races.<\/p>\n<p>The group holds regular track workouts, monthly fun runs, snow shoeing excursions and social events.<\/p>\n<p>Club members also serve in a volunteer capacity as the official clock watchers for the Boston Marathon and at the finish line for JP Morgan Chase Corporate Challenge in Boston.
