MBTA Charlie Card now accepted on MWRTA buses!<\/p><\/div>\n

FRAMINGHAM, MA<\/strong> - <\/strong>The MWRTA, (Metrowest Regional Transit Authority)<\/em>, is Framingham's local bus service.<\/p>\n

Riders may now pay fares for fixed route trips on the MWRTA bus system using the same Charlie Card used on MBTA busses and trains!<\/p>\n

Former \"LIFT\", (Local Framingham Inter-Transit)<\/em>, bus routes are now part of the MWRTA as are several other area transportation systems including the former Natick Neighborhood Bus and other routes have added taking riders into Ashland, Holliston, Marlborough, Southborough, Hopkinton and Milford. The system also connected with MBTA and Commuter Rail service.<\/p>\n

The Charlie Card can be obtained at various MBTA locations and may also be obtained from the Framingham Treasurer's Office, (in Framingham Town Hall \/ Memorial Building, 150 Concord Street, in Downtown Framingham).<\/em> Once you have a card, you can add additional funds to the card on all MWRTA fixed route buses.<\/p>\n

\u00a0NOTE: With the introduction of Charlie Cards as a form of payment on MWRTA busses, the MWRTA will be phasing out 10-Ride ticket books, (existing tickets will be honored)<\/em>.\u00a0 The MWRTA system will not be honoring\"Charlie Tickets\".\u00a0 Seniors and disabled riders must obtain a Transportation Access Pass, (\"TAP\"), card.
