FRAMINGHAM, MA<\/strong> - It was a perfect fall afternoon to wander down to Framingham Centre for the 21st Annual Pies the Common<\/strong> craft show and pie sale -- a fundraising event sponsored by First Parish in Framingham Unitarian Universalist Church.<\/p>\n

Along with the pies, this year's event featured a bit of cheesecake<\/em> -- the naked old guys<\/em> from the First Parish in Framingham were there, (with their clothes on), autographing their now world-famous \"CELEBRATION 2012<\/a>\" photo calendar.<\/p>\n

Twelve gentleman from the First Parish, all between the ages of 64 and 87, posed au natural<\/em>, (yup -- that means \"naked\"), for a fund raising calendar which, \"boldly proclaims the joys of being an older man whether 64 or 87 with whimsy and humor<\/em>\".<\/p>\n

News of the calendar has spread literally around the world, making headlines from Boston to London -- and featured on Jay Leno, on MSNBC News, and many other t.v. shows.<\/p>\n

\"Hundreds<\/a>

Hundreds of home baked pies on sale at the Framingham Centre Common.<\/p><\/div>\n

This isn't the first time First Parish has published one of these very tastefully done teasers.\u00a0 In 2006 a dozen women from the church, (also age 64 to 87), posed in the buff for a calendar celebrating \"ageless women\".<\/p>\n

Members of the First Parish got the idea for the calendar from the (2003) movie \"Calendar Girls\"<\/a>, (which starred Helen Mirren)<\/em>, a true story of twelve \"church ladies\" from the English coutryside who posed nude for a calendar to raise money for the Leukemia unit in their local hospital after one women's husband dies from the disease.<\/p>\n

While the calendar guys drew plenty of attention, the real stars of the day were the hundreds of home-baked pies on sale.<\/p>\n

Apples, blueberries, pecans -- if you could bake it into a pie, it was there! Whole pies sold for $14, or you could mix-and-match and sample slices of several different pies for $2 a piece.<\/p>\n

Aside from the guys<\/em> and the pies<\/em>, there were over 30 booths of crafts, antiques, jewelry and gift items -- and several more booths and tables of\u00a0 food including hot dogs,\u00a0 sausage sandwiches,\u00a0homemade fudge, cakes and other baked goods.<\/p>\n

Band members and supporters from Framingham High School set up a booth and were selling \"Framingham Flyers\" scarves and other items imprinted with the school's blue and white Flyers eagle logo, and raffling off an X-Box and other items to raise money for student activities.<\/p>\n

There were games and activities just for kids and the ever-popular \"spin-art\" machine -- all in all, it was a family fun day with something for everyone!<\/p>\n

For each of the past 20 years, a traditional handmade quilt made by members of the the First Parish on Framingham is raffled off -- this year makes twenty-one!<\/p>\n
