This one is at motorist eye-level at the intersection where Speen Street meets Old Connecticut Path.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Placement of new signs, and the removal of other signs has cleared up confusion about where and when you can park, (and caused confusion in others areas).<\/p>\n<p><strong>The major points of the new parking regulations are;<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Overnight on-street parking [of passenger cars] is now allowed, <em>(so long as parking is not prohibited by other parking regulations).<\/em> Effective January 1, 2010<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>On-street parking is now regulated by a <strong>year-round<\/strong> <em>odd\/even<\/em> system.\u00a0 <em>(P<\/em><em>arking is allowed on even numbered side of street in even number years, odd numbered side in odd number years). <\/em>Effective May 1, 2010.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The (2) hour on-street parking restriction is being eliminated <em>townwide; <\/em>but, in two \"zones\", (the Framingham Center\/State College area, and the Downtown Framingham \/ Hospital area), there will now be a\u00a0 (3) hour parking limit from 6AM to 6PM, <em>(Monday through Friday)<\/em>.\u00a0 Effective May 1, 2010.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These new regulations are the outcome of several public meetings where input from residents, from Town departments,  as well as input from business owners and other<!--more--> interested parties was welcomed. <em> (This attached .PDF of the <a title=\"Framingham Traffic and Roadway Safety Committee Metting agenda for March 10, 2010\" href=\"http:\/\/www.framingham.com\/townhall\/trsc\/20100310-trsc-agenda.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">TRSC meeting Agenda [from March 10, 2010]<\/a> shows the level of detail and types of traffic and safety issues considered by the committee members).<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Board of Selectmen also approved the following:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>All signs indicating \"Residents Only Parking\" are to be removed from all streets by April 1, 2010.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Parking management zones, (a.k.a. \"meters\" or other forms of paid or restricted parking), are to be implemented in the Framingham Center\/State College area,\u00a0 and in the Downtown\/Hospital area with (3) hour parking limits.\u00a0 <em>These zones were to be formally defined in January (2010).<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>A Resident-Only Parking Sticker pilot program is being established in the neighborhood near the Framingham Commuter Rail Station, (Rt. 135 \/ Waverly St),\u00a0 by April 1, 2010.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<div id=\"attachment_844\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/framingham.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/2010-train-area-sticker-map.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-844\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-844\" title=\"2010-train-area-sticker-map\" src=\"http:\/\/framingham.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/2010-train-area-sticker-map-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Framingham, 2010 Parking Sticker Pilot Area near Commuter Rail Station\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.framingham.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/2010-train-area-sticker-map-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.framingham.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/2010-train-area-sticker-map.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-844\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Map of new parking sticker pilot in neighborhood south of Waverly St., near Framingham Commuter Rail Station<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Along with the town-wide recommendations by <em>the TRSC<\/em>, traffic and safety at certain intersections and along certain streets have required even more specific regulation.\u00a0 Recommendations include placing stop signs at some intersections,\u00a0 or restricting on-street parking in front of\u00a0 apartment complexes.<\/p>\n<p>Selectmen have scheduled a review in October (2010) to evaluate if  and how well the new parking regulations, zones and sticker programs are working.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<div id=\"attachment_783\" style=\"width: 235px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/framingham.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/2010-parking-overnight_300x400.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-783\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-783\" title=\"2010-parking-overnight_300x400\" src=\"http:\/\/framingham.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/2010-parking-overnight_300x400-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"Framingham, MA older 2-hour limit parking sign (4\/6\/2010)\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.framingham.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/2010-parking-overnight_300x400-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/www.framingham.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/2010-parking-overnight_300x400.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-783\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">This sign at the Wayland \/ Framingham town line on Old Conn.
