{"id":9137,"date":"2008-10-05T21:29:08","date_gmt":"2008-10-06T02:29:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.framingham.com\/news\/?p=9137"},"modified":"2021-03-25T12:40:24","modified_gmt":"2021-03-25T17:40:24","slug":"girl-scout-registration-this-month","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.framingham.com\/news\/2008\/10\/05\/around-town\/girl-scout-registration-this-month\/","title":{"rendered":"GIRL SCOUT REGISTRATION THIS MONTH"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>FRAMINGHAM, MA -- Framingham Girl Scouts will have 2 Town-wide Girl Scout Registration Days in October:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Tuesday, October 14 from 7-9 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church Hall<\/li>\n<li>Saturday, October 25, from 9 to 11 a.m. in the Costin Room at the Framingham Public Library downtown.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Framingham Girl Scouts is open to girls ages 5-17 (Kindergarten through grade 12).\u00a0\u00a0The registration year is from October 1 through September 30.\u00a0\u00a0A parent or guardian signature is required on each girl's registration form.\u00a0\u00a0The annual membership fee is $10 person (financial aid is available on request). Each individual troop may require an additional fee per meeting or per year.\u00a0\u00a0Checks should be made payable to Eastern Massachusetts Girl Scout Council.<\/p>\n<p>Girls are divided into Daisy-Brownie-Junior-Cadet-Senior troops based on age\/grade level.\u00a0\u00a0Girls may join an existing troop, if space is available.\u00a0\u00a0New troops may form throughout the year, and every effort will be made to place each girl in a troop.\u00a0\u00a0If no troop is available for a girl, she may register as a \"Juliet\" Girl Scout. This enables her to attend Framingham-wide events (like roller skating or bowling activities) as well as council events (including camps).<\/p>\n<p>Adults\/parents who wish to attend a meeting or an event must register as a volunteer with Girl Scouts, including paying the $10 membership fee.
