Whoever said being a parent was easy?

Do you feel like you are always yelling and still no one is listening?
Are you physically lashing out?
Are you overwhelmed by your childís physical or emotional needs?
Do you feel tired and alone?
Are you afraid of your anger towards your children?
Does the pain of your own childhood often get in the way?
Do you wish you could show more love?
Do you have time to take care of your own needs?
Do you want to improve your relationship with your kids?
Parent Support Groups

At a Parent Support Group you can talk to other parents who
are feeling just like you do. Led by a volunteer facilitator
and a member of the group the free, weekly meetings are confidential
and anonymous. Many groups offer free child care while parents meet.
Group members are single, married, grandparents, guardians, lesbian and gay,
and of all cultures, races and faiths.

Call to learn more information about the Framingham group that meets on Wednesday evenings.

Parental Stress Line

The Parental Stress Line offers support, empathy, information,
referrals, and crisis intervention to parents and caregivers throughout
Massachusetts who are having difficulty coping with the stresses of
parenting. The Line is staffed by trained volunteer counselors and
operates twenty-four hours per day, seven days per week. The Parental
Stress Line receives approximately 3,500 calls every year concerning issues ranging from effective discipline to drug abuse. No concern is too big
or too small for a parent to call.

We Need Volunteers

Volunteers are at the heart of Parents Helping Parents. They facilitate
weekly group meetings, answer phones for parents in need, provide childcare
while parents are in groups, and help in our office. Training is provided.
