Saxonville was first known as Stone's End as the Stone family were the first settlers, not only in Saxonville, but the first settlers in what is now Framingham.

"Saxonville" comes from the wool of Saxony sheep that was woven in the Saxon Factory Company in the center of this village of Framingham.
