On August 4, 2010, The Framingham Public Library Foundation, Inc., (FPLF), was organized as a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation "to provide funding for project and initiatives that compliment, the Town of Framingham's financial responsibility for the operation of the Framingham Public Library system, including but not limited to projects and activities that do not normally fall within the library's normal annual operating budget, such as building renovation, purchase of furnishings and fixtures, and enhancement to the library's programs and services."
The short term, initial goal of the FPLF is to raise funds to help pay the cost of constructing a new branch library in Nobscot. The longer term goals are to establish an endowment fund that will supplement, but not replace, funds received from the Town of Framingham.
Members of the FPLF's first board include: Jo-Anne Thompson, (Chair and FPL Trustee), Jason Smith (Fundraising Chair), Elizabeth Fideler (FPL Trustee), Ruth Winett (FPL Trustee), Grace Corrigan, Michael Gatlin, Esq., Timothy Sullivan, Christine Visminas and Brett Peruzzi.
