What is the Board of Selectmen?

The Town of Framingham, Massachusetts is governed by a (216) member elected Town Meeting, (5) member elected Board of Selectmen and a selectmen-appointed Town Manager.

The Board of Selectmen have executive powers and duties and primarily cause the laws and orders of the Town to be enforced and records of the town's official acts to be maintained.

The Board of Selectmen appoints a Town Manager and Town Counsel who, (respectively), oversee daily operation of Town business, and; provide legal advice and services in the best interest of the Town.

Selectmen are elected two in two years and one in one year, for three year terms. (refer to : GFB Article 1 and Article II Section 1). (See also: MGL Chapter 41 Sections 20-23
