Filed under: Arts / Culture by News Staff at 6:05 pm on February 7, 2010

FRAMINGHAM, MA - Framingham Community Theater is seeking 14 actors (5-7 women, 7-9 men) ages 18-adult for its original mystery dinner theater production, The Mobsters of Framingham--Mystery Dinner Theater You Can’t Refuse. Auditions will be held on Wednesday, February 10, 2010, 7:00 PM, at the Performing Arts Center of MetroWest (directions below). Rehearsals will be on either Tuesday or Wednesday evenings and Sunday afternoons. Performances will be in late April/early May.

It's the Roaring '20s and Framingham's speakeasies are bursting with mobsters, flappers, and those who are out to get 'em! As characters interact with the audience, clues will be revealed, and the audience will solve the mystery. This show promises to be a gin barrel of laughs--don't miss this unique theater experience! Written by the FCT Writers Group.

Be part of the Italian Mob under the capable leadership of Capo Cino, their Godfather. Or, join the rival Irish Mob, led by Mick “Big Mac” Donalds. Be the “Kingpin” Bert Robinson, who retires from gangland Chicago to seek a quiet life in Framingham and has established his control over the two local mobs; he owns the speakeasy where the action takes place. Or perform as his brother, detective Ernest Robinson, assigned by the Framingham PD to solve the mystery. The speakeasy’s bartender/bookie Fraulein Marlena Pourenschotz, cigarette girl Virginia Slimms, and sultry lounge singer Roxy Knocksoff, round out the cast.

Auditions will begin at 7:00 PM. (Please be prompt so that you have time to fill out paperwork!) Auditions will consist of readings from the script, and will be done in a group format.

If you are interested in auditioning for Roxy, please prepare a ballad and an uptempo that you can sing a capella.

The Performing Arts Center of MetroWest is conveniently located at 140 Pearl Street in downtown Framingham above The Danforth Museum of Art and one block from the Framingham Public Library. The red elevator door at the Pearl Street entrance takes you to PAC's third floor facility.
