FRAMINGHAM, MA - Since the year 2001 the Xtreme Riders motorcycle club has held a fund-raising motorcycle run to benefit kids with Leukemia.

This morning hundreds of gleaming motorcycles gathered in front of Robinson's Hardware in the Pinefield Shopping Center and lined up for the 10th Annual Xtreme Riders Leukemia Run. At 10:15AM, the group left the Nicholas Rd. lot and headed up Pinewood Dr. for the start of the 53 mile run.

The police escorted motorcade of riders planned to roll into the Leominster Eagles Club at noon for a family friendly afternoon barbecue, three live bands and a juggler, bouncy-house, face painting and temporary tattoos to keep the kids entertained!

Each year the run attracts more and more riders.  Last year, (2010), the run raised more than $15,000 from $20-$25 rider fees, raffles and other donations.

Proceeds from the day's events go to "Andrew's Helpful Hands", a registered 501(c)3 non-profit which directly support families of children with leukemia.

Members of the Xtreme Riders share more than their love of motorcycle riding and have formed a band known as "XRB'.  The band is scheduled to perform July 29th at Concerts on the Green, (on the Framingham Centre Common).
