FRAMINGHAM, MA - Within the The Town of Framingham there are three public beaches that are maintained and staffed by the Park & Recreation Department.

For the 2011 Season the beaches will be open Thursday, June 23rd and remain open through August 18th, 2011. All three beaches are open from 10:00 a.m. 'til 7:00 p.m. daily, (7 days a week).

Day passes are available at the beaches. Fees are $3 for residents or $6 for non-residents. If you do not have proper identification, you will be charged the non-resident fee.

Seasonal passes are available for $15/yr per resident, ($30/non-resident). Family rates for up to (6) members* who are directly related and reside at the same address are available for $40/yr per resident family or $70/yr per non-resident family are also available. Seasonal passes may be purchased at the Park & Rec office Monday-Friday from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., after June 20th, 2011, (*see beach info attachment for details).

The three Framingham beaches are:

  • Saxonville Beach - on Lake Cochitutate, with parking lot and beach entrance on Lake Rd., (which is located off Old Connecticut Path).
  • Learned's Pond Beach - located at the end of Shawmut Terrace, (take Concord St. to Prindiville Ave. and follow to end, or take Union Ave to Walnut St., turn onto Warren Rd., follow and take 4th right onto Shawamut).
  • Washakum Beach - located on Nipmuc Terrace, (take Hollis St. / Rt 126 to Nipmuc, or from Waverly St. / Rt. 135, take Winthrop St. to Wood Ave. and follow to Nipmuc).

The Park & Rec department also offers Swimming Lessons at the beaches, (see beach info attachment below for registration and course dates, fees and details).
