2nd Annual Ride for Food, Sunday September 15th, 2013

FRAMINGHAM, MA - Before Framingham had the Pearl St. Cupboard & Cafe, (a food pantry which opened in the former DMV Office in Downtown Framingham), many hungry Framingham residents already had a place to turn -- literally...

Even today, Joanne Barry, Executive Director of "A Place To Turn", an emergency food pantry in Natick tells us, "our food pantry serves those in need in Metrowest, with close to 70% being Framingham residents."

Barry is reaching out to those in Framingham to participate in the 2nd Annual Ride for Food-- a bike ride to help raise money for several Greater Boston food pantries -- including A Place To Turn.

The ride will be held Sunday, September 15, 2013 and consists of a 12, 25, or 50 mile course beginning and ending in Dedham. Get complete details about the 2013 Ride for Food here.

Have fun and help feed their community!  There are two ways you, your friends, neighbors, bike lovers, food lovers or anyone else can help:

  • Register to Ride - Go to rider registration web page, (there is a $75 registration fee). NOTE: Be sure to click "Join" on the 'A Place to Turn'  Team!

About "A Place To Turn" - established in 1979, the founders were among the first to recognize that economic hardship exists in the suburbs. Begun in the basement of a private home, then briefly operating from St. Patrick Church in Natick, in 1981 settled in present location in small cape on grounds of Hartford Street Presbyterian Church, Natick, MA.
