FRAMINGHAM, MA --The Framingham Interfaith Clergy Association will hold an Interfaith Candlelight Vigil for Healing, Civility, and Cooperation in Framingham.

The vigil will the eve of the elections, Monday April 3rd at 6:00 PM in front of the Memorial Building and will include the lighting of candles and praying for those who are running for office.

This action is in response to what religious leaders of Framingham consider to be a continuing deterioration in the atmosphere and attitudes in public discourse in our community. Our hope is that public leaders and candidates will be present to support a common desire to take constructive steps in working together as a community.

However, no candidates will be endorsed and no positions on political issues will be taken - all candidates will have the same prayers for guidance, compassion and cooperation said for them.

The vigil itself will only be about twenty minutes and then we will make teams of clergy and laypeople who will go to say prayers of blessing at each of the ten polling locations in Framingham.

Everyone is invited to come and participate!

Fifteen clergy have committed to participating.
