FRAMINGHAM, MA - Livability Media, which provides information about and ranks cities, towns, regions and states on how "livable" they are, has ranked Framingham, MA at #24 in their 2020 List of Best Place to Live in America.
According to their website, for this year they "analyzed more than 1,000 small to mid-sized cities on factors like safety, affordability, economic stability, outdoor recreation, accessibility and community engagement".
For 2020, the company's seventh year producing the annual list, they also factored in an “opportunity score” which took into account job numbers, broadband access, economic resilience and growth.
The Top 10 rankings went to:

- #2 - Ann Arbor, MI
- #3 - Madison, WI
- #4 - Portland, ME
- #5 - Rochester, MN
- #6 - Asheville, NC
- #7 - Overland Park, KS
- #8 - Fargo, ND
- #9 - Durham, NC
- #10 - Sioux Falls, SD
In a detailed results page for Framingham they mention several large Framingham employers including Bose Corporation, Staples and the TJX Companies, Framingham's emerging Bio-Tech and retails sectors -- and many smaller businesses and innovative startups, Downtown Framingham's diverse restaurants and shops.
They also single out a few local companies as "Best of (Framingham)" including: Saxonville Mills Café, Exhibit ‘A’ Brewing, J&M Diner, Bourbon’s Kitchen, and Liveability's idea of a "dream job" -- being a chocolateer at Chocolate Therapy.
Aside from business and related job opportunities, the report also cites Framingham's medical and educations facilities, Framingham's great number of parks and recreation areas, beaches, and it's arts and culture scene. The report considered places like the Amazing Things Arts Center, Farm Pond Park, and community involvement with Framingham State University as making Framingham not only one of the best places to live in Massachusetts -- but in all of America!
At #24, Framingham ranks just behind Missoula Montana (#24), and ahead of Longmount Colorado (#26).
