FSU Rams Women’s Lacrosse Shoots Past Bridgewater State Bears 20-7

FRAMINGHAM, MA -- The Framingham State University Women's Lacrosse Team saw seven players tally goals as the Rams cruised to a 20-7 victory over Bridgewater State University Bears this afternoon in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action at FSU's Maple Street Field.

The Rams raced out to a 3-0 lead midway through the first. Tara Palermo converted a free position opportunity and Rachel Erickson and Madison Skiff added goals.

Bridgewater State got on the board on an unassisted goal by #12 with just over five to play in the first, but the Rams closed the first with back-to-back goals and led 5-1 after one.

The Rams opened the second quarter with four straight goals including two from Hannah Guerin pushing the lead to 9-1.

The Bears closed the gap to 10-3 on a free position shot from Erin McIntrye with just over four on the clock, but goals from Guerin and Skiff pushed the lead back to 12-3 before a Camryn Gonsalves tally sent the Bears to the locker room trailing 12-4.

The Rams offense continued to fire on all cylinders as they extended the lead to double digits in the third and led 17-6 after three.

The Rams pushed the lead to 18-6 in the opening minutes of the fourth in route to the victory.

The Rams were paced offensively by five goals and three assists from Hannah Guerin, while Regan Fein chipped in with four goals and three helpers.

Rachel Erickson finished the contest with three markers, while Madison Skiff scored three and added an assist. Tara Palermo found the back of the net twice and assisted on one tally for the Rams.

Molly Lanier chipped in with two goals, while Kathryn Simpson tallied one goal and added an assist.

The Bears were led by two goals from Kelsi Brennan, while Melanie McClay, Nina Liquori, Jacqueline DeLorey, Erin McIntyre and Camryn Goncalves all found the back of the net once.

Alexis Burleigh earned the victory between the pipes for the Rams and made 13 saves.

Olivia Kerrigan, Brooke La Torra and Hannah Bowlby combined for seven stops for the Bears.

The two team's current MASCAC records are Framingham State (6-6, 3-0), and Bridgewater State (5-7, 1-2).

The Rams are back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Worcester State for a MASCAC tilt at 7 p.m.
