Framingham Public Works Construction & Traffic Alerts (April 24th- 30th, 2022)

FRAMINGHAM, MA - Motorists are advised that there may be detours or slow moving traffic due to construction work being performed during daytime hours on the following roads in Framingham during the week of April 24th through the 30th, 2022. Please note: construction schedules are weather permitting and subject to change.

Drivers are alerted to be prepared to stop or take detours as work continues on many roads in Framingham.

The following roads and areas where Framingham Department of Public Works, Eversource, Verizon, MassDOT and private contractors are performing roadway and infrastructure improvements may cause delays or detours for motorists -

Buckminster Street Gas Main Replacement - Eversource Gas will replace gas main and service lines on Buckminster Street. The road will be closed to traffic, and a detour will be in effect. Please seek an alternate route.

Bonvini Drive, Sax Road, and Harmony Lane – Road and Sidewalk Improvements. Contractor will mill the road and begin sidewalk work on Bonvini Drive, Sax Road, and Harmony Lane. Expect minor delays at times.

Carlson Road Water, Sewer, and Roadway Improvements - water main installation continues. Expect minor to moderate delays. A one-way alternating traffic pattern will be in effect at times.

Edmands Road Gas Main Replacement - Eversource Gas will replace gas main and service lines on Edmands Road between Edgell and Garvey Roads. Expect moderate to significant delays. Edmands Road southbound traffic will be detoured onto Genardy Way, Livoli Road, and McAdams Road.

Mill and Fill Spot Paving Repairs – Scheduled for Tuesday-Thursday - contractor will mill sections of Concord Street (between Elm Street and A Street) and Central Street (between Edgell Road and Summer Street) to prepare for spot paving repairs. Expect moderate delays. A one-way alternating traffic pattern will be in effect.

Miscellaneous Sewer Main Lining Work - contractor will line miscellaneous sections of existing sewer main. Anticipated Schedule and Locations: Monday-Tuesday, April 25-26, 9 PM - 5 AM: - Sections of Beaver Street, Leland Street, and Rt. 9 East/Worcester Road at MEMA

Nobscot Intersection Improvements - Conduit will be installed on Edgell Road and Water Street. Overhead cables will continue to be relocated. Expect moderate delays. A lane shift or one-way alternating traffic pattern will be in effect. At times, traffic will be detoured through the CVS plaza.

Utility Pole Inspections and Restoration - Verizon / Osmose - Dig safe paint markings will be noticeable in the public right-of-way near telephone poles throughout Framingham. Residents with questions about this project should contact Osmose Utility at (770) 632-6700 or submit an inquiry form on their website.

Proctor Street Road Improvements – Scheduled for Tuesday-Thursday. Contractor will mill the road to prepare for paving. Please seek an alternate route.

Rt.126/Rt.9 Drainage Project - MassDOT contractor will continue to work off-road near the Fairbanks Street island area. At the end of the week, some prep work on Rt. 9 (East and West) may occur. Expect minor to moderate delays at times. If prep work on Rt. 9 occurs, a detour or lane closure may be in effect.

Rt.126/Rt.9 Drainage Project, Gas Main Relocation - Eversource Gas will begin relocating its gas main on Rt. 9 East near the Rt. 126 (Concord Street) off-ramp and shoulder. Expect moderate delays at times. A ramp closure will be in effect on occasion.

Spring Street Sweeping Program - The Highway Division will continue its Spring Street Sweeping Program. Zone 15 is scheduled for Monday, April 25.

Union Avenue Gas Main Replacement - Eversource Gas will continue replacing gas main on Union Avenue near Bowditch Field. Expect moderate delays. A lane shift or one-way alternating traffic pattern will be in effect.

Union Avenue Roadway Improvements – MassDOT: drainage work will continue on Union Avenue near the Main Street and Maple Street traffic islands. Expect moderate delays. A lane shift or one-way alternating traffic pattern will be in effect.
