Framingham Seeks Land For Community Center
FRAMINGHAM, MA -- The City of Framingham has extended an open, informal invitation to landowners in the Framingham interested in making their land or existing buildings available for the site of a future Community Center.
Published as a Request for Information (RFI) the City is seeking information that could potentially lead to a future Request for Proposals (RFP) or partnership solicitation for the proposed new facility.
The RFI describes the City's preferences for a facility large enough to accommodate a multi-generational / multi-use / disability-accessible Community Aquatics Center with an Olympic/competition-size swimming pool, equipped with spectator seating, wireless pace clocks to host swimming and diving training, practices and competitions.
The RFI also describes a Community Field House with a minimum 100,000 sq. ft. synthetic turf field, track, multi-use courts, bleacher seating, ample parking and other amenities.
The proposed field should be able to support lacrosse (men’s and women’s), soccer (men’s and women’s), field hockey, indoor track and field events, and serve as a venue to hold graduations or other large-scale community events or celebrations.
Complete information about the proposed project can be found on the City's website, listed as: Bid #8153 - Development Guidelines for a Community Center in the City of Framingham.
