Our Civil War Story: From the Home Front to the Front Lines
Framingham Community Theater presents TWO PERFOMANCES (2:30 and 8 pm) of this moving original production at Framingham's Historic Village Hall. "Our Civil War Story" uses actual writings from residents of Framingham and New England to give you a sense of what YOUR life would have been like had you lived here 150 years ago. The words of over 40 real people will be read by 30 local actors and re-enactors, bringing these voices of the past alive in a powerful performance featuring a live Civil War Camp Band ~~ This production is being done in conjunction with the Framingham History Center's commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the Civil War. To celebrate our 5th anniversary we are hosting a Community Open House at St. Andrew's Church 3 Maple Street Framingham on Saturday May 11 from 10am-2pm. We'll be offering acupuncture for stress relief, massage and yoga for everyone who attends. We'll also be holding a candlelight vigil where people can light candles in memory of veterans who have passed or in honor of someone currently serving abroad. Also, there will be a fundraiser silent auction to raise money to support Veterans Acupuncture Care. Donations welcome.
