Staged Combat Series of Classes to be held at PAC Starting Monday, March 16!

FRAMINGHAM, MA -- The Performing Arts Center of MetroWest announces a five-week Staged Combat Workshop for students in grades 6-10. An actor should be ready for any part in theater, film, television, or opera that comes along. Learn the ins-and-outs of professional staged combat with Mark Bedell from the Maine Academy of Staged Combat. Learn to safely fight with a sword, just like they do in the movies! Mark will also teach students empty hand staged combat and a bit of martial arts.

Mark is a veteran stunt coordinator, and has been seen in everything from Pirates of the Caribbean , “Dead Man’s Chest” to a recent Green Day music video. He is a past Artistic Director of the Children’s Theatre of Maine, and has worked with many television and film companies including the History Channel, Spike TV, the Sci-Fi Channel and Showtime. Mark is a Certified Fight Director with the Society of Professional Staged Combat. By attending this workshop, students will learn from Mark’s 27 years of professional experience and become and ACTION ACTOR, just like in the movies!

The Workshop will run on Mondays from March 16 – April 13th, 2009, for Grades 6-10: from 4:00 - 5:00 PM. Tuition: $100. Please register now.
