FRAMINGHAM, MA -- Annie's Book Stop in the Nobscot Shopping Plaza on Water Street presents a Book signing and lecture by Curt Hoffman this Wednesday, May 13,at 7.00 p.m.

Book: The Seven Story Tower: A Mythic Journey through Space and Time/ (Plenum Books), An exploration of myth in cross-cultural context. This book arose out of Hoffman's course material, and has since been reprinted in paperback. He is also the author of People of the Fresh Water Lake: A Prehistory of Westborough, Massachusetts; A Handbook of Indian Artifacts from Southern New England (now in its 8^th printing), and numerous articles and reports on local archaeological sites.

Lecture: Dumuzi’s Dream: The Earliest Recorded Dream in Human History”, which is closely related to one of the myths discussed in /The Seven Story Tower.

Bio: Dr. Curtiss Hoffman is Professor and Chair of the Anthropology Department at Bridgewater State College. He teaches courses there in archaeology, mythology, Native Americans, and the Anthropology of Consciousness. He received his B.A. in 1967 from Brandeis University in Mediterranean Studies and his Ph.D. in 1974 from Yale University in Near Eastern Languages and Literatures. He has a life-long interest in mythology and symbolism, especially from the ancient Near East. He is past Vice-President of the International Association for the Study of Dreams. He has also developed a specialization in the archaeology of eastern Massachusetts, and is past President of the Massachusetts Archaeological Society and is currently the editor of its Bulletin.
