www.framingham.com helps you find the best sports information in town!

FRAMINGHAM, MA - Back to school also means it's time for many kids to start various fall sports.

Parents, student athletes, coaches and others involved in Framingham sports may be overwhelmed if they have to organize sports schedules -- especially if they have to coordinate between two or more sports -- or for more than one person or team's schedule.

Of course, the best source of info is from the organization which runs the particular sports program.

Most print a schedule that they hand out at the beginning of a season -- but in these online, "socially networked" times -- using the internet simply make more sense.  Schedules change. Games get rained out. Events get rescheduled. Printed paper schedules could never keep up.

With that in mind, we've dug up some of the best sites to find Framingham Sports info.

If you're a Framingham High School athlete, (or the parent of one -- or a "local sports nut"), and are looking for info on when and where try-outs, practices and games are, you can start at the www.FlyerAthletics.com website.  Aside from the local content, the site contains links to the www.BayStateConference.com and www.HighSchoolSports.net websites.

"HighSchoolSports.net" contains a wide range of info and has several options including allowing you to select a school, (FHS is listed), and view calendars and schedules for one sport, several sports, or all sports for that school.  To make it easy, here's a link to view the current month's schedule of all FHS sports events with one click!

The Joseph P. Keefe Regional Vocational High School in Framingham, (or simply "Keefe Tech" as it's known locally), has its own sports teams which compete in the Colonial Athletic League.  You can find info about Keefe Tech athletics at: www.keefetech.org/athletics (Note: Until 2009 Keefe Tech's football team was known as the "Unicorns" but changed their mascot and name to the "Broncos").

Looking for local Framingham college sports info? Framingham State University athletics official FSU "RAMS" sports info along with links to related NCAA, MASCAC and ECAC websites can be found at: www.fsurams.com

Besides FHS, FSU and "Keefe", in Framingham, many kids also play soccer in Framingham United Soccer Club. Info for the club can be found at: www.FUSC.org, (the 2011 fall season starts Saturday, Sept. 10th -- late registration is still open through Sept. 15th!)

There are also many other non-school related sports activities for kids (and adults) in Framingham including Babe Ruth Baseball, Temple Beth Sholom Basketball, Loring Arena Ice-skating, Framingham Running Clubs -- even a local semi-pro football team, The Metrowest Colonial! We've maintained and published a comprehensive list of sports in Framingham, along with contact info and links to each organization's website. It can be found on our Framingham Sports page!

Not sure if a game has been called off due to weather? Among other ways of letting people know when a game has been call off, The Framingham United Soccer Club and Framingham Youth Football and Cheering both use the www.RainedOut.net website to announce cancellations.

Have we missed anything?  If your favorite Framingham Sports organization, team or website isn't listed on www.framingham.com -- use the comment box below to let us and others know about it!
