Framingham Traffic Alerts: Sept. 12th - 18th, 2021

Drivers are alerted to be prepared to stop as work continues on many roads in Framingham.

FRAMINGHAM, MA -- Motorists are advised that there may be construction work being performed during daytime hours on the following roads in Framingham during the week of September 12th through the 18th, 2021.

Please note: construction schedules are weather permitting and subject to change.

Blackberry Lane Sewer Pump Station - Punch-list items. Expect minor delays.

Berry Street Gas Main Replacement - Eversource gas will begin replacing gas main on Berry Street. Expect minor delays. A one-way alternating traffic pattern will be in effect.

Carlson Road Water, Sewer, and Roadway Improvements - Preparation for water main installation will begin. Expect minor to moderate delays. A one-way alternating traffic pattern will be in effect on Carlson Road and Glen Street. Also, at times, a one-way alternating traffic pattern will also be in effect on Beaver Street and Kendall Avenue.

Edgell Road Gas Main Replacement - Eversource gas will continue replacing gas main on Edgell Road. Expect moderate delays. Lane shifts and/or a one-way alternating traffic pattern will be in effect.

Sewer Smoke Testing - Framingham’s Department of Public Works, and their consultant, Weston & Sampson, will conduct smoke testing via sanitary sewer mains in Western Framingham, Monday-Friday, September 1-24, 2021 (excluding holidays), from 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. The areas to be smoke tested are bounded by Pleasant Street, the Mass Pike, Route 9, Temple Street, and the Southborough Town line. Nipmuc Road Gas Main Replacement - Eversource gas will continue replacing gas main on Nipmuc Road between Hollis Street and Wood Avenue. Expect minor delays. A one-way alternating traffic pattern will be in effect.

Nobscot Intersection Improvements - Underground and aerial fire alarm cable work continues. Culvert work is slated to begin. Expect minor delays. Police details will be on-site to facilitate traffic as needed.

Utility Pole Inspections and Restoration - Verizon / Dig safe paint markings will be noticeable in the public right-of-way near telephone poles throughout Framingham for Osmose’s utility pole inspections and restoration. Roadway Maintenance – Crack Sealing - A specialized contractor will crack seal the following roads: Franklin Street, Dudley Road, Potter Road, Brook Street, and Brimstone Lane. Expect minor delays. Police details will be on-site to facilitate traffic.

School Street Sidewalk Improvements (Between Old Connecticut Path and Hamilton Street) - Sidewalk and curbing work. Expect moderate delays at times. A lane shift and/or one-way alternating traffic will be in effect.

Urban Street Sweeping Program – Area B - The Highway Division will street sweep Area B on Tuesday, September 14. NO PARKING will be allowed from 9 AM to Noon. Vehicles parked on the street will be ticketed and towed. The following streets will be swept during this operation: Avon Street, Bethany Road: #4-56, Bridges Street, Bridges Street Ext., Cedar Street, Charles Street, Claflin Street, Clifford Street, Coburn Street, Cypress Street, Hayes Street, Highland Street, Hilton Street, Mellen Street, Naples Street, Pine Street, Saucier Street, Waverly Court, and Winthrop Street.
